Past Competitions

evGrandPrix

Organized by Purdue University, the evGrandPrix is the ultimate engineering challenge. In this innovative competition, collegiate teams are tasked to develop a fully autonomous racing go-kart. Focused on the cutting-edge software controls for self-driving racing applications, each team uses a kit kart as a foundation for our sensor suite and computer platform. Equipped with a variety of sensors, the driver is completely replaced through software; these sensors act as the eyes and the ears of the vehicle, and our code is the brain. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are commonly employed to interpret sensor data and respond accordingly. In this dynamic and advanced competition, students are led to think differently and are responsible for developing the technology of the vehicles of tomorrow.

Our organization attended the competition in May 2022. We showcased our progress through time trials and avoiding obstacles on the track — ultimately earning 3rd place.

Indy Autonomous Challenge

The Indy Autonomous Challenge is a $1.5M international competition that races Dallara IL-15 cars at +180mph around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Beginning in 2020, Wisconsin Autonomous competed as one of 30+ international collegiate teams alongside Michigan State University as a combined team. We competed, through the tribulations brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic, throughout 2020 and early 2021 up until the Simulation Challenge. Due to funding, we did not continue in the competition beyond Spring 2021.
